Hi All,
Following on from our visit to John's premises before Christmas where it was mentioned in conversation about another meeting of a slightly different nature……….
Well John's been in touch and has pre booked the Shakespeare County Raceway at Long Marston,Stratford Upon Avon CV37 8LL, on Sunday the 8th of June for 30 cars to attend and have some fun on the Raceway.
The costs involved are £12.00 admission and £25.00 to run your car up and down the Raceway all day long and to your hearts content, there's food and drink available on site for those
in need of fortification between runs.
In John's own words "Its loads of fun and I highly recommend it especially for those with modified cars to see how much quicker they really are!".
Well the gauntlets down so if anyone is interested at having a day at Long Marston please add yourself to the list and keep it edited accordingly, the usual applies as its first come first served with a reserve list to run after the initial 30 are down.
I'm putting this up as a favour and in thanks to John and his team for hosting us all at Christmas as I won't be attending this event due to Holiday commitments on this occasion but please
take a look as I'm sure it will be a great little adventure for those of you with a competitive streak.

Passengers are not allowed and the age limit for drivers is seventeen and must have a full license, although I assume your age comment was directed towards passengers. It's a great spectator sport and there will be lots of really interesting/weird/wonderful cars to watch. Any person you bring with you can always do the right thing and take your photo when the lights turn green!!! Great one to have on the wall!
Regards,
John McGurk

Funny, I thought this would have gone down a storm?
Couple of points which may help give you a little confidence.
Firstly this will be weather dependent, rain = bad!
Secondly remember that the surface you drive on will be really sticky and not like the public roads you are used to so all you have to do is watch for the lights, point and shoot! Tyre warming of course helps but this is just for fun, probably.....
I will be bringing a couple of Astons and more than likely something else for a bit of interest.
Considering there is a lot of talk about modifications I thought you would be itching to try out your cars???

Might be a mixture of holiday season and/or cars going to Le Mans and not wanting to need new tyres, clutch or anything else a few days before departing.
Sounds like a great idea but I am not allowed out to play as I am off for five days to Le Mans shortly afterwards. Insufficient brownie points.
