Hello All,
Out of the blue when I started up the Navigation today the screen came up dark except for the "Please wait...." message.
The message stayed on for more than an hour of driving. After powering down and restarting the car a few hours later, it's still asking me to wait. Any tips on how to resolve?
....story of my life - still waiting......

Try ejecting and reinserting the sat nav disc. It says that when it can't read the disc

Take the DVD out, give it a good clean and pop it back in. Mine did this and that fixed it.

Is it a pirate disc?

Thanks. Just went to try that but now I'm being really dense. The manual says to power down the navigation, leave ignition on position II and the press the eject button. But I don't see an eject button on the DVD unit in the hatch. What am I missing?

No it's not a pirate disc it's been in the car since I bought it in 2006.

In the boot, looking in on the left hand side behind a bit of carpet. As I recall there is an eject button but it's not obvious.

Slide the plastic cover on the DVD player down. IIRC, that should eject the disk.

What he said - that's the trick but just make sure you have the ignition powered on. Pulling the cover down should then eject the disc.

if you still have the problem after ejecting and re-inserting the disc try cleaning it or insert one of the other discs.

Well, I eject, cleaned and reloaded the disc and now it says:

"The disc in the DVD player cannot be read. Please insert another disc".

Tried the other ( all original) discs and get the same error. I wonder if the laser on the DVD player has gone out. Anyone with experience in replacing the DVD unit?

FYI this turned out to be a dead laser in the Sat Nav unit. OEM replacement for the DVD UNIT was quoted at £1,600/- Instead, I had the laser replaced for £300.
