I've had a quick read through of a few old posts on wheel alignment as I've just had a couple of new front tyres fitted and am after getting the alignment checked / adjusted before the tyres start to wear.

TDI in Thurrock have come up a couple of times and seem to do a good job with their fast road set-up, but at £350 plus VAT seems a bit steep, especially (in admittedly a couple of year old post) the price was suggested as about £200, which seems a lot more reasonable after adjusting for inflation.

Reference for the £350:

http://shop.tdi-plc.com/catalog/fast-road-geometry...

So I've a couple of questions for anyone with recent experience:

a) Anyone had their alignment recently set by their dealer and how much? Appreciate this will be to standard specs.
b) Is TDI's fast road set-up worth the £350 plus vat quoted?

Essex based so Grange Brentwood are my local and only a handful of miles from TDI, but open to any other local(ish) suggestions.

From memory it was under £150 when I had them do it the first time. So long as they can get all adjusters undone it wont take them long.
Give them a ring to check their pricing.

Totally transformed the feel of the car.

Transformed mine! Steering wheel wasn't straight and the car pulled to the left worse than when it went in. Got it done elsewhere at that point. Cost me £140 at Works Service and they got it spot on. They just did my V12V as well and again spot on.

They also do balancing on a state of the art Hunter machine (I believe there are only three in the UK) with a roller to simulate road resistance on the tyre.

All in all, any balancing and geo I will use WS from now on.
