Vantage V8 ECU fault

Here's a funny one.

On Saturday afternoon my car came up with a little orange triangle and a message that 'emissions system service required'. After about 5-6 starts the problem has gone away. Today, after giving the car a bit of a milking, I got a red triangle and a message which said 'urgent engine control service required- or something similar. Now immediately before the red warning came up, I was braking very hard for a bend and a tiny bump in the road made the ABD come on - that's when the red warning illuminated.

The car then went into limp home (not far to go fortunately) and popped and farted all the way home. I stopped the engine, got out, locked it, unlocked, restarted and guess what - no fault this time. I don't get it?

I don't understand what's going on - fuel pump relay or something ? coil pack?

You might need to get it on an AMDS system to see the stored codes and diagnostics that ODB doesn't see
