It could indeed be a replacement for the V8 GT4 using a V12 engine, but I doubt it - it doesn't make sense as it would make them that much more expensive
It's nothing like as extreme as the GT3 which does use a V12
Looks a touch too extreme to be the base of a road car, but who knows....I have heard rumours of an extreme V12V road car to be coming over he next 12 months

Is it perhaps an upgrade on the one make series they have? Wouldn't make that much sense as the good thing about onemake gt4 series is that owners can really milk the car as they are eligible for quite a lot, so having the cup series as v12 would be rather a hindrance to those who aren't 'arrive and drive' racers.
I know the Maserati mc gt4/trofeo went from base GT4 spec to something more powerful in 2013 (power is around 500 from 450-60 in the gt4/old spec trofeo) with more aero. So I could be wrong.
After having a second look, perhaps its just a wing option for the one make series, the rest of the car looks very gt4, the bonnet is most likely for aesthetics.

Um, I think that the car is more of a photo shop exercise. I could of course be mistaken but the rear end looks disproportionally narrower than the front. The door shut lines are very tight though the bonnet ones are gaping. It would be nice if it was real but this one isn't in my opinion.

Sounds like 75% of the cars that leave the factory

I'm not so sure that it is a photoshop. I had a quick look at some of his further shots. Anyone recognise that McLaren in the background?

My best guess re the V12V is that someone has asked them to develop an ultimate trackday car for them. A private commission type thing. And AM have come up with this V12V GT4.
(Here's another one of the MP4: https://www.flickr.com/photos/protze_automotive_ph... )
When you order a GT3 or GT4 there are a slew of options you can specify including wing types, telemetry packages, etc. I actually have a price sheet sitting on my coffee table at home listing all the options. The car in question looks a lot like the GT3 I posted pictures of here a couple of months ago while at one of my events prior to the Sebring 12HR race.
BTW: the GT3 is based on the V12V, the GT4 has the V8.

The bonnet and front wing vents lead to V12 GTE thoughts right. Little details like lower slatted grill, little aero-eyelashes on front bumper and black roof are nice. It's not really a weekender for a drive with the wifey is ithttps://www.flickr.com/photos/protze_automotive_ph...

Project TeaSpn: Just had my roof painted "mirror gloss black", looks truly beautiful...
Fitting 2014 V12Vs carbon front end on my 2007 this week, new wheel arch liners, new tray, this is work in progress:

I don't see the car in my original post being anything like as extreme as the GT3 or GTE. It's hard to tell conclusively because of the angle & colour scheme but to me, the bit behind the front arches is nothing like as full-on as the GT3. The rear spoiler, rear arches, front splitter, front grille, etc demonstrate it's at most, GT4 basedBTW: the GT3 is based on the V12V, the GT4 has the V8.

But there is a V12 bonnet hence the curiosity of this car. For all the options, I'm not aware of an option for a V12V road car bonnet, with race car latches
My best guess is it's a private track day toy, using a V12 engine, with some GT4 touches and some one-off custom touches. For instance there is chrome trim around what appear to be proper side windows - most unusual

OK, you have definitely beat me. I was experimenting with my wife's new vinyl cutter and made some temporary logos for my car. Can you teach me how to make a die cast version to put on my new 2015 Vantage GT (N430 for you Brits)? You can PM me if you want, I would appreciate it. BTW, my GT is being built with the V12VS carbon grille as well.

Hi Karl, great to have the US team joining the PH topics - the graphics vinyls are so much fun rightBTW, my GT is being built with the V12VS carbon grille as well.

I think I have a few spares of my GT4 badges, I will check and PM you when I get back from Chicago Wednesday.

This looks like it belongs on a track - not something for the road or a sophisticated class act. I wonder if this is built post production in a race shop in Germany? There is too much out of line with any production version, as you guys identified. The shut-line on the bonnet is awful (maybe the carbon fibre bonnet not a great fit, common issue). The aero behind the front wheels & the grilles on top of the front arches are unique, the wheels are race car and there is a full roll cage. The front splitter is unique but too extreme for the road.

it's definitely a strange hybrid of road & race car. You can see the parcel shelf through the rear window which you wouldn't see on a GT4. Same with the chrome trim round the windows, which look like they are glass not plexi. The front grille is again off the road car, not the race car. Hence me thinking it's an adapted road car rather than an adapted race car.

. I recon the front splitter would not be road safe (at MOT level) in the UK, as it would simply cut someone's ankle off in a pedestrian accident.I hope that no one starts to take inspiration from this car

Sorry when I saw the date of the post I realised it was an old one and deleted!
Ive not seen the car, though I did spot a friend of mine in the video on the Ohlins stand (Ohlins as of yet arent a GT4 homologated damper IIRC) which points to it being a track car only, along with the standard fuel filler and side glass, not polycarb.
