V8 Vantage values
Discussion
I have the opportunity to purchase an October 2008 4.7L V8 with circa 20,000 miles on the clock. Any ideas on what I should be prepared to pay? I was thinking, well hoping, something between forecourt value and part exchange value?
When a car is over 5 years old do you still service them at a main dealer or is it considered acceptable to service at a specialist like Chiltern Aston or Nick Smee? How much should I budget for an an annual service?
Any thoughts on the benefits of taking out warranty insurance from Aston Martin or third party cover?
Thanks for any help or advice.

Main dealer price would be just over £50,000.
Interestingly, the retail price in September 2011 was around £59,000, so in the first 3 years it dropped £40,000, but only £9,000 in the next two and a half years.
Used 4.7 cars have a strong demand now.
A recent 5th year service for mine (main dealer) was about £800. Probably not much less at an independant.
It seems many on here do not buy warranty. The cars are fairly reliable. Clutch life varies according to driver behaviour, and is an expensive job because of the gearbox location. That would of course not be warranty anyway.
They are fantastic cars, but obviously can cost a bit to own.
