Morning all smile

I am literally going insane here, waiting for delivery of my very first Aston Martin - V8SR.

Original delivery date was supposed to be TODAY...it was having the 'internal fittings' on Wednesday and dealer is not giving anything away when I'll get it!

Did anybody else closely follow their builds, any idea how much longer I'll be waiting?! I don't know what to do with myself! Any suggestions? This has to be the most painful wait of my life ever frown

Also can people remember what was the first place/person they visited with their new Aston? Roaring up outside the girlfriend's work is the obvious first choice (she doesn't know yet tongue out) but I'm wondering if anyone did anything extra special?

Thanks guys - love to hear from you.

James

I asked a motoring enthusiast friend, for help with the choice of a 3 door hatchback car.
It should be sensible, but still have an element of fun, I told him.

He suggested something, which I think is called a Pergoda, Perooda, or the like. It is apparently one of those tiny square boxy cars, that unless you are 95 years old, you sit in it looking as though you are a complete plonker.

His mouth fell open, when I arrived at his home in my new 3 door hatchback. 420 bhp and with the looks of a work of art. Sensible, yes. An element of fun, you bet.

Thank you Mr. Fisker.

Have fun with your car James.

I think my V8VS went into build this week. Should be organising a factory tour soon to see it coming together. At the moment the excitement is tempered by the fact that once it is ready I will have to pay for it :-)

I am actually trying to not really think about it and burying myself into other things (at the moment I am rebuilding my hi-fi for example).

Years ago when I got a new TVR Chimera I hatched an elaborate plot with my dealer to say I had won the use of a TVR for the weekend as a competition winner. I had them write me a letter to that effect and everything. On the weekend in question we went on a drving trip to Cornwall. Only when we got home did I hand the keys to the wife and tell her the car was in fact hers. Lucky for me she got a company car shortly after and I ueed the TVR (as a daily driver which was fine other than the servicing costs and depreciation involved with having the audacity to actually use the car - which by the way I will be doing with the V8VS).

I think I will be in mine in July, you have far less time to wait it seems
