Should be able to push it down manually. The screen stayed up when the aerial tuning unit in my DB9 failed. Perhaps any component failure can cause this fault.

Indeed !!

I just want to totally disable it popping up, anyone ever figured out which fuse to pull and if it has any other issues if you pull the fuse?
It wont even go onto anything else... it just permanently says insert dvd...but i thought the 2009+ dont have dvds?? Because i had a look and there def is no dvd player anywhere i can see... just the dash mount cd player...
??

I guess it's a hard drive but it will need a DVD disc to load the map?

Can I politely suggest that you RTFM?

Section 10.33 covers what all of the fuses relate to. (Cabin F43 might be what you are looking for). Section 9 covers Satellite Navigation, including how to load and unload the discs.
