Euro Tunnel Top Tip
Discussion
It was my first time on the euro tunnel last week and was a little under prepared for the boarding process in the DBS and scuffed my wheels on the metal edge of the narrow track inside the carriages.
On the return leg, I put two wheels up on the footpath section and drove through the carriage without doing anymore damage. So to anyone travelling on the euro tunnel, save your wheels!
PS - confessions such as this aren't easy for us blokes but as most in the group caught at least one wheel I'm comfortable with fessing up just this once.

The best thing to do when using the Eurotunnel is to use the carriages set aside for high vehicles and lorries. Has a much wider track on them and the loaders are quite used to Astons (and similar) using these rather than the normal carriages for cars. No problems with kerbing your wheels.

When you book you say you're a high load (roof rack or something) and you get put in the single story section which is used for coaches and has a wider track between the walkways.
^^^^ this every time

At least you were able to make the return trip, my car is still stuck in France after it refused to start after its stay at the "Grange" chateau!
Sorry to hear that. Were you with the Grange lot in AMR hospitality ? I was there too, although our group didn't have quite the 'presence' of Grange :-)You could all stop being benders and learn to drive in a straight line. Its not difficult
Always put mine on the bottom deck, never scrapped tha alloys. Pop the mirrors in going past the toilets / starwells.
Found it even easier without Aston Annie sat next to me, saying right a bit, left a bit

oh no! that's a nightmare!!! Sorry to hear that. Have you managed to get a French AM Dealership to help you?
Nearest dealer is in Lyon. So a low loader arrived with a guy who managed to start it but as soon as it was turned off it wouldn't start again. Duff battery and/or alternator problems. Car taken away and will take 10 working days to be bought back to Blighty and Grange! Allianze eventually produced a Mercedes taxi to Paris then Eurostar back to North Kent and another taxi back home.

2 years ago on my LM trip back, my 1955 Porsche Speedster, was third from the front on Eurotunnel train, as we arrived into Folkestone, the car would not start causing a huge train queue and "security crisis" on Eurotunnel. Luckily the other LM drivers, got out to help push me onto the platform. There my car rested helplessly dormant as "security" came and "removed me and my car". I did get home in the end that same night fortunately...
