Chaps, as an alternative to Stratstone, Wilmslow can anybody recommend any good specialists / indys in the Cheshire / Lancs / Yorkshire / Derbyshire regions.

Looking in the FAQ section above I noticed Bridge Mill Motors in Macc. Any feedback on these guys? Obviously please offer any negative comments through my profile so as not to upset the mods smile

TIA

I think next closest is Stratstone Derby - there is a bit of avoid in't' North.
Nothing conveniently close to me in Sheffield that's for sure.

From what I recall, there are always plenty of positive comments about Bridge Mill (which is how they got into the FAQ!)

Have you tried a search for, say, "Bridge Mill Aston"?

My local dealer was Wilmslow - I even bought the car from them - but I used JCT600 in Leeds for my servicing.

Dealer stamp, lower cost, no possibility of bumping in to Michael Gould. biggrin

Their price included collection and return from Merseyside and they threw in lots of freebies especially during the all-important 3rd service. smile

This,Wilmslow quoted £1400 for next service, rang Leeds £900 before negotiation.

I took my V8V to Bridge Mill twice before I got shot of it. They were very good idea, I'd highly recommend them.

I used bridge mill with my db9v. Good lads, seemed honest and quite pleasant to deal with. Mechanically there's not much complexity to these cars so any good mechanic should be able to work on them, you seem to pay a serious premium for the badge. BM were cheaper than stratstone but I couldn't help feel it was still overpriced for what they were actually doing.

The guys at Bridge Mill Motors in Macclesfield are very obliging. I have used them to identify a problem and they didn't charge me - very descent. I have also used Stratstone Aston Martin in Wilmslow and they are very professional and really not that expensive particularly if you're an AMOC member. If you're concerned that the service stamps increase the value of your motor then you can decide one way or the other.

Bought my car from Wilmslow. Just had my first service at JCT Leeds. Had to haggle with Wilmslow to get nearly down to the price JCT quoted me straight off. Hence went with someone who wasn't willing to take an additional £400+ off me without intervention. Both very good but above was why I stuck with dealer stamp for service. Also you can park at JCT without upsetting the local residents or kerbing your alloys on the high street ;-)

After feedback on here I would consider Indy Bridge Mill for say brakes or minor faults outside of warranty.

Bridge Mill fellas put a new clutch in mine for half the cost Wilmslow wanted for the job, they also fitted the revised selector link & changed the gearbox oil. It's been faultless since. They also serviced it a few months ago, again very reasonable. I wouldn't take it back to a main dealers again, the guys at BM used to work for Wilmslow anyway so they're fully AM trained too.

The only problem is what to do in Macclesfield for 4 hours, it's a bit of a dump!

My p&j has been in to Bridge Mill today for its annual service. I was very impressed by their knowledge and attention to detail.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
