How much should a 4 year v12v service be?

I am being told 1.2k lots all in (inc VAT). Is that right? I understand it is a bigger service eventhough the car is 7.5k miles.

That table is interesting but I'd say you won't get those V8 prices at the main dealers. You'll get asked for twice that, so presumably the same with V12 services. Likewise at the independents that can use the AM stamp, you'll get 50% higher than what the table shows.

As long as you use a VAT registered garage and they use genuine AM parts this should not effect your warranty.
£700 ball park from a dealer should you wish to go down that route I reckon.

"Service prices apply to models registered since November 2012". Also note the additional cost for pollen and air filters when required (mileage based).

You could probably get it cheaper if you shopped around, but then I didn't want the hassle as they are 10 minutes from where I live.

I've just been quoted £1200 by my local dealer for my 4 year old V8 roadster that's done 3K since the 10K service last year.

If I'm understanding the table correctly, official price is £1,165 including the recommended air & pollen filter changes, if your car is registered after Nov 12. Which is arguably somewhat misleading and is certainly irrelevant to the vast majority as how many V12 Astons have done 40,000 miles in 18 months ?

Anyway, if the price above for a car that is built pre Nov 2012, that has been quoted to other posters too of just over £1,200 includes the filters, it sounds reasonable (ish). If not, it takes the price up to £1,600 which sounds OTT to me ?

I'm assuming all these figures include all the 'fluids' like oil and it's only if you need new pads, tyres, etc that there would be an extra charge ?

EDIT: Ignore much of that - I'm getting confused with the recommended items at 20,000 miles !

The £1,200 definitely includes all oil/filters/fluids etc, I didn't get charged any extra.

So if they included the oil recommended at 40,000 miles for a manual car in the table linked to above, it works out at c. £900 for a newer car - is the £300 difference because they have to do more work/change more items on an older car, or just because 'they can' I wonder ?

EDIT: Once again I've posted too quickly. It's only V8 manuals that need the oil changing at 40,000 miles. So it's £761 all in for a post 2012 manual V12 at 40,000 miles.....seems like a heck of a difference to the 'older' car pricing

Chiltern Aston seem very competitive, and are an Aston approved service centre - they don't sell new Aston's though, maybe not having to buy all those dealer cars is why they can afford not to have rip-off service pricing
