How to unlock the Tonneau of my V8 vantage (Release cables)

Dear Friends,
One of the hoses of the hydraulic system from the roof has exploded. To repair the hose I have to open the Tonneau of my Roadster which will not open because of the failure.
Does someone how to open this on a manual way?

To manualy release the Tonneau cover on a V8 Roadster you have to remove the leather cover behind the drivers seat (in a RHD car) which gives access to the battery.
In this area there are two black cords with a small loop at the end.
Pulling on these cords manually releases the Tonneau cover.

Thanks a lot. I red this also in the manual but couldn't find them. after many attempts I found them very high above the battery. I needed extra equipment and a lot of patience but succeeded. I suppose the former owner has probably removed the panel once and did not replace the cables on the original location.
