I've had my V12V for 4 days now. I went for dinner this evening in Central London and returned to my car to find someone had forced one of the electric wing mirrors open - GREAT! Some people really are animals...

The mirror is now loose and won't open/close automatically - it feels like it's become disconnected from the motor. I'm hoping this is a quick fix?

Really very sorry to hear that but at least it is not paintwork etc and I am sure can be fixed. I had got the impression that this is rare on Astons compared to other makes but obviously can and does happen

It's not just been hit as someone walked by and just needs putting back in to position?

When the mirrors are closed they are pretty sturdy so I don't think that would be possible. I believe it was forced open.

It may have just been caught by a handbag strap or similar, rather than being subject of an attack. Hope you can get it fixed soon, but don't let such an isolated incident detract from the ownership experience.

Don't let this put you off the car, people will vandalise anything. Our 3 y/o diesel golf was keyed parked outside a friends house, not even clean and shiny at the time! frown

It's possible the motor / gear system doesn't know where the mirror "is" if it's been forced, so may not operate. Sounds like a toolbox out job unfortunately. Gits!

I agree, if you want to vandalise a car, I doubt pulling the mirror out would be high on the list of priorities.

Hi, really hope it doesn't put you off, but we use an older R Rover for general use and virtually never let our "9" out of our sight. Hope its easily repaired.

Great way of looking at it - the glass is always half full yes

If it was, it should be OK. Mrs yeti manually pulled the passenger side one out 'to be helpful' the other day like we have to do on the Land Rover. It's fine and operates as before.

I was a >tiny< bit annoyed...
