I'm addicted to SPORT mode in my new V12, and whilst it makes a huge difference to the sound inside the cabin, I was wondering if there was a noticeable difference outside? I refuse to let anybody drive my car yet so have no way of knowing! They seem pretty similar when revving in neutral.

Another thing to do is take the parcel shelf out in lay it on the floor of the boot.

If my GF didn't have a dicky leg I would make her drive mine up and down the road for me so I could check the sound

Yes it makes a difference from the outside too, but if you just pull out the exhaust fuse (either No 22 or 15 depending on age) you wont need the sport button as the exhaust valves are then permanently open.

Plus you will find that with sport off you have more control of the throttle as it will remain linear in response and so controlling wheel spin in the wet is a little easier. wink

In the footwell down by the petrol cap release. You'll find a small black rocker switch hidden where the plastic trim finishes... Difficult to describe the exact loCation, but if you get a torch and stick your head down there you should easily see it.
Up for closed down for open...

Or was it down for closed and up for open... You'll figure it out.

This is very good news! Is it exactly the same as removing the fuse - i.e. bypass valve open through the entire rev range?

If you don't press the button down when you lift the handbrake, that activates the passenger ejector seat. wink

As suggested above the biggest improvement in exhaust sound within the cabin comes from removing the parcel shelf and laying it neatly on the boot floor wink Sport opens the valves earlier (generally 0-2k and 3k plus) so is louder across a wider rev band.

If you are concerned about others driving your car go to a quiet road and get someone to video you launching the car, once with your bypass switch active and once without - you will be pleasantly surprised!
