Boot 12V Socket Info.
Discussion
Just passing a tip on and asking a question at the same time.
At Le Mans 24H Classic this year, my daughter blew the fuse to the power outlet in the boot using her hair straighteners. Not as stupid as it sounds as they are 12V specifically for use in a caravan. Anyway, that fuse is under the passenger side carpet, behind a screwed down plate, so not the easiest to replace, and my car only had a couple of "spare" fuses in the fusebox that were plugged-in but on unused circuits, so I am recommending you pop a small bag of various fuses, (Mini Fuses) in this location, and standard blade fuses in the other fuse boxes.
Also make sure you carry the correct tool to unscrew the cover plate, and a pair of long nose pliers to remove and install the fuses.
Additionally, that fuse also protects the in-boot charger socket, so until fixed, you cannot use the maintenance charger.
My question though is......
Although I have a new battery, the genuine AM maintenance charger almost never clicks over to green! Anyone else have this? I only fitted a new battery because I believed it to be a battery fault. Yes, the boot and doors are shut and the car gone to "sleep" mode.

I carry the correct Torx tool in the Glove Box which enables me to remove the plate over the passenger footwell fuse box (just in case).
But I never thought about the long nose pliers to remove and replace the fuses (good shout).
One thing I did discover though is that the Owners handbook is not correct in its fuse designation section, an AM dealer told me the fuse for my Bluetooth module was F56 (10A) which is different from the handbook.

Mines a GT model, however it does eventually turn green on mine.
But always after a drive when I first plug it in it goes RED, and after anything between 5 - 30 minutes goes to Amber.
I have no idea how long it goes before green, but it is always green when I go to unplug a few days or some weeks later.
I replaced the original battery with the highest rated one that would fit from Tanya.co.uk
It's quite a few more Amp/Hrs rated over the standard fitment and it's never let me down yet.
The original was always a fine line between being ok or being a bit tired when starting and would remain on Amber for days and days.
As an edit:
On the Tanya.co.uk website you can search for batteries based on physical measurements, so use that tool to find the highest capacity that will fit. There will be times when those extra amps will get you home ;-)
If you're away from home and have no access to electricity :-)

Does anyone know which fuse is for the boot 12v socket on a 2009 4.7 Vantage Coupe? Mine is dead. Looking in the manual the only one that seems close is: F2 20A Cubby box accessory socket (Roadster) in the boot fuse box but it's not blown and mine isn't a Roadster. This thread is saying the fuse is in the passenger footwell but the manual has nothing that seems likely. I could check each 20A fuse but was hoping someone might have some first hand experience?
