With acknowledgment to Lomardy for the picture as I copied it from his thread.

When it was in for service last, the garage noticed that the top bit of the ECU housing (the bit that says 'Engine' in the picture) is missing on my car. I think it may just be the front piece as there is a piece of plastic in there with a plain black section (which will need to come out). I have obtained the replacement part but am not sure how to fit it. Does anybody know how to do it? I was hoping the ski slope doesn't need to be removed but, having looked at the job, I'm not so sure.

Any advice greatly appreciated

I went to see a car at a dealer a while back and it had the lower part missing. When I mentioned it I was told that it was easy to replace and they had a tool to remove the unit without taking the dash out. Hopefully that is indeed the case.

Johnnys lower front portion fell off the other week (Gaydon build quality frown )
It is just a small crescent of plastic I simply glued it back on using a VERY small amount of epoxy glue along the outer edge (it has a back light don't forget)

Astonmartinbits have the whole section

Thanks Mikey.

Its the whole replacement section I have got but don't know how to get the old one out. I suspect the front piece falling off is what has happened to mine leaving the piece you glued back on to in place. I need to get that out and replace it with the new section.

Same thing's happened to mine (it came back from the dealer that way - impressive!). It's actually a piece of glass, to my surprise. They say the whole unit needs to be replaced and it's taking them ages to get one. They can fix it at the third year service this months when I hit them with a list of niggles that they absolutely must fix before the original warranty runs out.
