Sportshift Clutch Question
Discussion
Last week my V8VR Sportshift was in at the dealer for a new Roof Module.
While it was in I asked them to change the gearbox oil as routine maintenance and while they had the diagnostics linked to the car measure the wear on the Sportshift clutch.
The notes from the AM tech said the clutch was okay and he quoted 5,700 actuations.
The AM tech's notes mentioned 6,000 - 10,000 actuations (Clutch Wear Index)
I think he meant that this was the range when it was starting to get worn.
The car currently has 24,000 miles on it and since I have owned it I have put 12,000 (mainly motorway miles) on it.
Can anyone shed more light on this?

Strange
When BR were setting up my twin plate clutch CWI was around 4k IIRC
But then that is a different/lighter set up
BTW there is a learn procedure that can only be initiated by a laptop that sets it up more accurately
Best thing you can do it ask for the CWI each time it goes in and keep an eye on the rate of change
The wear is not linear when it starts to change quicker the clutch is on its way out.

That's very interesting. At one point my dealer said that anything over 1700 for a clutch count is considered worn, which seemed very low to me. That 6000 to 10,000 number seems more realistic.
I'd really like to get an authoritative answer on it, but I have no idea who's answer to trust.
