Hi,

Advise required for the location of the "plug in" point for the AM battery conditioner, is this the cig lighter socket in the boot?

What is the adjacent switch to the lighter socket for, do we just plug the charger into the socket or need to set the switch which looks like has a battery crossed out image?

Thanks - 2009 roadster.

The switch is the disconnect switch and you don't need to touch that. The conditioner is plugged into the socket which is always live so you can close the boot to the first click so the conditioner wire doesn't get squashed and then lock the car so the alarm is set.

I also always put the box for the conditioner on the dash board as a reminder - just in case !!!!

I Just plug mine into the socket in between the front seats. Tried the boot and just drove off having reversed into the garage (Doh!) but luckily didn't get too far down the road - so didn't risk that again!

I dont think the socket between the seats is connected to the battery when the ignition is off so that will not work. It certainly does not on my DB9.
The socket in the boot IS always connected though.

most cars you can move the fuse to a different socket and have the internal one on all the time and not ignition fed and then it does work.
just did it one of mine

Both sockets in my DB9V (2009) are LIVE even with the ignition off...that is what drained my battery once, when I left the dashcam connected....

I think that depends on the model year. The aux socket in the centre console of my DB9 only remained live for a few minutes after the ignition was switched off.

I have done the same on four Astons now and the green light showing the battery to be at optimum level always seems to be on when I return car - even if it has been a few weeks between use in the winter times.

As previously stated above,I use the 12v socket in the boot of my Vantage V8 (09) with one click on the boot latch. I do not have an Aston charger but do use my BMW Bike charger which does do a very good job of charging and conditioning the battery if I've not used the car for a few weeks or so.
