Afternoon,

After a chicken decided to commit suicide in front of me I am in the market for a new splitter. Its a 2006 car, and a standard black plastic model will be sufficient for my needs.

How much can I expect to pay please and is it an easy DIY job?

Many thanks

I doubt he was in any condition to answer that after the event hehe

IIRC they are inexpensive from the dealer and easy enough to fit

Thanks Nick, I saw that.

I was wondering if it was an easy order from there and DIY job, or if a main dealer will charge roughly same for the part anyway and whip it on at the next service for me affair.

It should take you less than 5 minutes to remove and replace and you don't even have to lift the car. It's only held in place by about 8 screws.

One tip, support it and don't let it hang by one screw while you install it, as it has a real chance of snapping. VOE - d'oh! hehe

But, but ... the first reply is precisely that. Too subtle?

I had a rabbit take out the splitter on my 09 Vantage. I saw him(it) coming but for every evasive action I took he countered and appeared hell bent on vehicular suicide. It was a harder impact than I anticipated, but luckily the splitter was the only damage and was easier and cheaper to repair than I anticipated. Seems minor now, but the incident occurred in the 1st month of my ownership and I was more than disappointed.
