Just said goood bye to my Colbalt Blue Vanquish as I have got a very good Trade-in price. However, new Diavolo Red 2015 model has been ordered and is due in Feb 2015.

Test drove the new model last Thursday for 45 min and very much enjoyed the updated version. The car stays a lot flatter around corners when pushed, and the gearchanges are very addictive in both terms of speed and change down. I like the way you can hold the paddle down and it goes in to the best gear for the speed rather then several manual pull-backs. The gearbox feels great and so much quicker that you can feel it has a good chance of getting to the 3.6 0-60 time, the mid-range punch also has great pick up through the gears.

There was a good feeling up in the Gaydon factory and you could feel the excitment through the business. Things appear to be moving forward in the right direction:-)

Good to hear you are staying with the marque. I see Aston have three reds so what made you choose Diavolo over Volcano and Divine? Interested to know and what interior colour did you go for?

2015 will be here before you know it!

Diavolo red is the colour they used on the Zagato, a very deep red, Divine is very dark in the flesh, almost purple/red(seen one at the factory)
Have gone with the new style black gloss/Chrome wheels, black leather and red course stitching, red piping, carbon roof and mirrors, black front grill and vents, square steering wheel with red stitching/carbon paddles and chrome vents and dials.

Sounds a fantastic spec and look forward to seeing the pictures.

I'm pleased that you got a good trade in price but the question remains what is going to happen with the pre 8 speed/Bosch ECU Vanquish' when the new version is so much better. I looked at a Vanquish Volante yesterday but felt that you are pretty much catching a falling knife with the MY14 cars at this point in time.

I think they have actually gone up, as i am sure there was some around the £130k mark not so long ago.

The current 6 speed Vanquish was never a bad car in the first instance, it's just an upgrade like the V12s

I know of a brand new, unsold Vanquish with the six speed TT2 In Ceramic being heavily discounted to try to get people in it. One local dealer to me had a '£40k off' sticker on it when we attended a recent Open Day. Still remains unsold when I was in there last week and must impact upon pre-owned prices. If you are not bothered about having the eight speed box then it looks fantastic value to me.

Well I am actually. I found the gearbox and the fact that you had to switch the suspension straight into sport-mode for the right ride mode an instant deal-braker when the Vanquish came out. It now seems that both issues have been solved but even a 40k reduction on the MY14 will not make up for those earlier shortcomings i fear.
