Coming to that time again when the car gets wrapped up and put away for the winter I know everybody will say you should drive it through winter but don't enjoy it so considering getting a rs5 would I regret it had a s5 got rid straight away just wasn't a sports car but the new rs5 seems a lot better what's your thoughts

Serious?
4WD 450bhp and auto how does the Aston compare to that.
But it's a Audi a everyday car if that's what you want.

Vorsprung Durch Technik (progress through technology) V power beauty soul (albeit a bit of a cliche)

I think that sums up the difference.

There is no one car fits all solution and the Audi is another compromise of daily driver with a bit of go in it...the RS compared to S is not really that much different in experience

....if you drive a nice car daily, it can be easy for driving an Aston to become a bit "normal"and you take it for granted, so one of the best upgrades you can get is something different for a few days per week...the Aston will feel special every time you get in it...

so Id get something cheaper in addition to the Aston for winter months ...perhaps a 4wd of some description. Get the Aston out on fine winters day as a treat and look forward to the summer in it smile

Adding a used Audi b8 s4 avant to the garage would make a great combo and the Audi is both one of their better cars to drive and a real workhorse.

Well I am planning to use my V8VS every day in thw winter. Not sure yet how I will get on but that is the plan. As for the special feeling not being there if you drive it too often. Not happened yet. Usual caveats my world is different from everyone else. Whichever way I try and break it down having a second car does not work for me and it is actually quite nice not having the choice. If I did I bet I would avoid putting miles on the Aston and where would be the fun in that if after two years I had done but a few thousand?

All that said an Audi quattro of some description would be my second car choice. I have had an Audi of some sort since 1989 until now

Had a few Audis and would have one again for sure as a winter/daily car to keep the Aston experience special. If it was my money and it wasn't to a budget then the RS6 V10 Avant would be the one, otherwise I'd go for the RS4 Avant. Both manuals and great cars. The new RS6 looks great but has the 8-speed Tiptronic box, which is nice but I prefer manual.
