V8 Vantage Roadster DSC, ABS, warning lights
Discussion
So, just got 2 x new upstream Oxygen sensors fitted to the Aston to get rid of the Emission Service MIL light on the dash which seems to have worked.
Started the car yesterday and now get lots of warning light about DSC off, ABS warning light and the car refused to select gears from the paddles.
Switching ignition off and on seems to reset things and the car runs fine
Done a google search last night and I suspect the Brake Pressure Transducer
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DB9-and-V8-Vantage-Brake...
I seems to be fitted below the Brake Master Cylinder, has anyone experienced this, replaced this part and is it the solution to the DSC & ABS warning light?
PS A new battery was fitted in July, so can hopefully rule the battery out

I haven't looked into the pressure transducer before, but have you checked:
o your battery is really OK - fixing the issue by switching off and on points this way
o there were no connections to the transducer knocked around when the exhaust sensors were changed - I don't know which
sensors were changed, but if the offside one was accessed via the engine compartment, they may have been working under
the brake servo area?

I spoke to my parts manager contact at an AM dealer this afternoon and he quizzed one of their technicians.
It might not be the Brake Pressure Transducer after all, sometimes the DSC need recalibrating (by a main dealer) after doing work like I have just done in replacing the two Oxygen sensors.
I had to drive over to the AM approved bodyshop in Edinburgh this afternoon to get my next bodywork upgrade booked in which involved a 120 mile round trip and the car drove perfectly, so it may just have been a temporary wobbler due to the new sensors.
Will just keep an eye on over the next few days.

Hi Mike,
You are indeed correct, anyone who has the correct diagnostic tool.
Do you think given the fact that I have not had the messages again and the car seems to be running well I will need the DSC Calibration (what does this involve)?
Sadly I am 360 miles away from your workshop if it does need done

The dsc calibration mainly involves very simple set up of steering angle sensor, yaw rate sensor and read / reset of brake control module.
I would say that if system is functioning now without error light, then is ok and needs no further action.
It could well have been the common pressure sensor fault, but also becoming common now is corrosion on back of wheel hubs screwing wheel speed signal.
If the problem causes error light to ping on dashboard, a fault code history will be logged in ecu memory so long as not reset or battery disconnected. So should be simple case of plug in with diag kit to discover root cause.
From pressure switch, steering angle sensor, yaw rate sensor to all hubs for wheel speed signal, I wouldn't fret what might be at fault (if not a glitch) because each part of the system is quick to detect where fault rests and no part is that expensive to supply / fit.

I've had similar warning messages on my DB9. Then after coming back from 10 days away the battery was flat. Was ok to jump start and all seemed fine. However after another 4 days away the battery was flat again and couldn't be jump started. Was picked up this morning by my local dealer, who seem to think the low voltage will be responsible for the warnings. This seems to also be backed up by other people's experiences.
I'd quite like a bit of an extended run with no problems!

I have the same issue with the traction control and ABS warning lights. replaced the wheel speed sensor but didn't solve the problem. It could be a broken wire like you had. How much did new wire connection cost?
Aston Martin Edinburgh initially replaced the ABS speed sensor, but the fault occurred soon after that and then they replaced the wiring as it had water ingress. I cannot remember exactly the cost (it was 2014) , but you can buy a wiring repair kit to replace the speed sensor wiring.https://astonmartinbits.com/models/5-V8-Vantage/pa...
I’ve had this for months...
Brake failure stop safely / traction control temporarily off / abs failure.
I’ve recently replaced the rear n/s wheel bearing which made me think it was that. The sensor is reporting correctly.
Put my Foxwell 520 on the body OBD and it’s thrown up all this...
1) TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE
went into the fault details and it shows:
P1 935 active refer to service manual
Transmission oil temperature to up temp comparison FAULT
2) BRAKE CONTROL MODULE
Went into the fault details and it shows:
P0134 please refer to service manual
P0074 valve electrical failure
P0130 pressure sensor electrical failure
P0148 steering angle sensor - wrong identifier (this code clears when I want it to on the foxwell)
P0115 steering angle sensor CAN timeout (code clears when I want it to on the foxwell)
3) CEM/HS CENTRAL ELECTRONIC MODULE H/S CAN
Went into the fault details and it shows:
Open circuit or short circuit to voltage battery for r/t signal and tail lamps (funny that, as I replaced that unit with a second hand one a few months back)
Other things...
My battery is brand new, won’t last overnight so something is significantly draining it
My heated rear screen button flashes occasionally... god knows why.?
Any help (especially from Bamford Mike) would result in copious chocolate and beer being sent to your good selves 😊

My battery also went flat recently. 2009 V8V Roadster . Disconnected the battery, charged it up, reattached it and loads of errors similar to the above; Brake failure, TPMS failure, Airbag failure. Engine light comes on and stays on. It won't start and then seems to burn through the battery charge overnight!
Any ideas from anyone?

Hmmm, very interesting. I have had all sorts of odd problems for a while, drivers door wouldn't open occasionally, alarm goes of randomly, so there may be some mileage in this. I'll get it looked at and report back. delamars said:

I originally started this post in 2014 and see my comments belowAny ideas from anyone?
How old is your battery?
A replacement is circa £110 (Bosch from Costco) and can be easily fitted yourself.
At my last service in Feb 2020 by my local indy they mentioned about disabling the tracker on my 2007 V8 Roadster due to its age and the possibility of it failing and potential problems, from memory they quoted circa £150 to disable the old tracker and could fit another more modern tracker (I cannot remember the cost of a new modern tracker, £650??)
I will probably get the old tracker disabled in Autumn prior to the Eurowatch yearly subscription charge of £250 in November
