This is a most interesting characteristic, that you have referred to Mr. Avin.
I have noticed this on the forum several times, and am most interested in the psychology.
Most of us have probably spent over £50,000 buying our cars, indeed some well over £150,000. Let us call the average £100,000.
A topic is opened where the contributor, we could perhaps call them Skinflint), asks whether a £50 job is possible available at a back street repairer for 2½d (for our US friends, old British coinage probably worth a cent).
Most puzzling!
You love your car Mr. Avin. Get a proper (I think it is called) Laser Geometry Check, and ignore the cost. As they sometimes say, "You know she is worth it".
Have a good afternoon, and do perhaps your eyes also need an LGC, to avoid hitting any more kerbs.

i thought it a perfectly reasonable question I have noticed this on the forum several times, and am most interested in the psychology.

a. should I get it done
b how much should I expect to pay

I always prefer to be prepared (as a former Boy Scout ) before taking a course of action.
It was in this spirit that I framed my query.
I am always content to pay a fair price for a job well done, however I did not wish to be "turned over" and this prompted my asking how much I might expect to pay.
The helpful post by Woolie gave me all the info I required to proceed, for which I am grateful.
Lesser men than me would take umbrage if the adjective " skinflint " were applied to them.
I am however more forgiving and,in this season of goodwill, will turn the other cheek.
I am also extremely grateful to my dear friend Mr Gould for springing to my defense and to whom will give an additional 10% discount on top of the 10% he already receives as a loyalty bonus the next time he visits my Ladyboys.

I've used this place in Chesham in the past, for tyres and alignment. Recommended to me by Chiltern Aston, they also do work for the local Stratstones as well, so used to seeing the cars and familiar with TPMS etc.

It may be a bit far north for you so don't worry about the nosebleed once you pass the safety of the M25
Alternatively, works can do all that is required, I know a few on here who've been there for similar with positive results.

It is particularly pertinent as my car is with Chiltern for its annual service and on the advise I got from this forum I was going to ask them tomorrow about doing it for me.
However from your post I take it that they do not do tracking ?

I've tracked my car twice this year and been to Le Mans, it's been a ball although quite expensive
. Geo is the best mod you can have on your car young man. £50 will not get the job done properly
I have never indicated in my post on this topic that I was looking for a " cheap " fix.
. Geo is the best mod you can have on your car young man. £50 will not get the job done properly
It was the perversion of my query by Jon39 that took my innocent request for advise on this course.
My doing business with you (that is now under review) lies testament to the fact that I occasionally pay "over the odds" for a service and this was only out of my generosity to a fellow Astoneer.
However you no doubt have heard that wise proverb "look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves".
I do not regard profligacy as a vrtue believing prudence to be the sensible way to conduct financial matters.
So,in conclusion, will you please stick your wagging finger where the sun does not shine.

+1 for Wheels in Motion. Excellent service, great people and they really know how to set up the geo on a car. They also give you a choice of standard factory, fast road etc. to suit what you want to achieve. It is particularly pertinent as my car is with Chiltern for its annual service and on the advise I got from this forum I was going to ask them tomorrow about doing it for me.

Seemon I may be out of date here but they only do a standard or a sports set up for the old DB9 - that's all that was on offer to me
Mind you I did drive like I had square wheels. Lol.
