When I drove an Elise I used to exchange waves and flashes with 90%+ of Lotus and Caterhams I passed on the road, sadly it seems the AM drivers I've passed are completely oblivious to this unspoken mutual acknowledgement!

Am I unlucky or do most Aston owners just not care to see other Astons?

Don't know about anyone else - but despite owning one, i'm still too busy picking my jaw up off the floor every time I see another one. biggrin

I'll always remember my first drive home from collecting the car, I had a wave off a gent in a DB7 - made me feel like I'd joined a really special club smile

I always wave, even in London. I sometimes flash my lights but it depends what else is on the road. I get a response about a third of the time; there will be some people who don't do waves, some who didn't see me, some who may wave from inside and I don't see it. That's alright, I still do my bit for the tradition.

I usually give a wave. Now bearing in mind I drive an old Aston my experience is quite interesting.

- Obviously other Feltham and Newport Pagnell DB drivers consistently wave back.
- 1980s Virage/Vantage/DBV8 drivers usually wave
- DB7 & V8Vantage drivers occasionally acknowledge me
- DB9 Drivers the least.

It seems from my very limited research that DB9 drivers are the least likely to know what their distant predecessor looks like biggrin

yeah, always wave and mostly get a wave back if not going too fast and actually have time to register each other smile

I ride a bike too and have always nodded/waved/acknowledged other bikers

sometimes I just need to remember not to wave at every biker when im in the car wink

Next Aston I see is getting the wave, lights and horn treatment. I will prevail!

I always wave although I always seem to get a response suggesting that I spend an unhealthy amount of time "self entertaining."

Only had mine since September and saw my first one a couple of weeks ago flashing and waving. Having come from many years of MG and Lotus Elise ownership it"s nice to be back

I'll wave but not flash, electrical gremlins don't allow that any more, and I won't start the exchange with a Gaydon owner because unlike all here many don't recognise a "heritage" car even if it looks like BMT214A

I wave, never had a wave back even though Aston Martins are super rare in these parts.

Saw one guy who had previously ignored me parking up at a local supermarket (DB7 Vantage Volante like mine) so I pulled in alongside him to say hi and try and start up a friendly chat about our cars.

Waste of time, he was a total snob tt, my buddy who owns a DB6 got the same treatment from him also so its not just me I guess.

I'd like to wave, but in 5 years of owning an Aston, I've only ever seen one on the road (and I wasn't in mine). I guess I'm too far into the sticks...
