Can anyone recommend a car cover for a Vantage, as mine needs to live outside on the drive for a couple of months while I work on a race car in the warm.

Not looking at spending silly money as it's only short term.

Specialized are really good, had a few now. About £270 for outdoor cover, but usually a few weeks waiting

Thanks - I take it that if the cover was going to stay on for any length of time, then you would want it to be fleece lined to minimise the risk of the cover marking the paintwork.

well ive been using specialized covers for over 12 years on various cars now. They are not really fleece lined but its certainly not abrasive. the important thing is that the car is clean and that you tighten the straps up tight so theres no movement in it

I tend to use mine when expecting real bad weather or if leaving the car unused for a week or so. Also useful if you need to keep it clean for a special occasion and wash it a few days before

The Specialized Covers do look good - they seem to do a Stormshield '+' aimed at longer term use that is fully fleece lined (which they say also helps reduce build up of moisture / mould, as well as avoiding the potential for scratches). The '+' isn't a huge amount more than their standard one, so worth me thinking about.

Should know soon enough how long the car needs to be outside. if its only a week or so, I may not bother, if it's going to be around a month or more, then i'll get something sorted.

I have used several covers from Classic Additions and have been very pleased with them for both quality and price. I haven't used a full outdoor cover, but have had soft indoor covers and a couple of waterproof half covers.
10% off, this weekend, too!

(No connection to the company other than as a satisfied customer).

Good luck,

David

ah, right, hadnt seen that one and may be ready for a replacement. My current Specialized cover is nearly 8 years old and past its best. It seems to let some dust through now. I live opposite a field and when its being worked my car is dusty within a day or two if I dont cover it up....the joys of country life wink

I've got a waterproof, lined one for a Vantage. £ 100, plus postage. I think it cost me around £300.
