I've noticed some fluid forming under the car near the passengers side front wheel. It's a thiner solution then engine oil but smells a little like petrol/WD40.

I've put some cardboard under the car to catch some, but does anyone have any ideas? Could it be hydraulic fluid? If so what from?

Oil from the damper perhaps?

Power steering fluid?

Jack it up and whip the wheel off and inspect the damper would be my first port of call.

Brake fluid? Noticed the same on mine followed by all the paint falling off the wheel!

Could be as I noticed the brakes did something strange yesterday. The pedal went very hard but the breaking power was weak. Tested them today with a few emergency stops and all seemed ok.... Need to watch that.

I get the diy thing, but I wouldn't mess with your brakes - particularly if you have had what appears to be an issue already... time to pop over to your local dealer asap IMO... better safe than sorry smile

I had a something that sounds similar a few years ago, although not with the brake pedal.
I mentioned this to Trinity Engineering when it was serviced.
Turned out to be a load of debris like pine needles and mud which had collected underneath the sills. Cold days it freezes and then when you pop it in the garage it thaws leaving a puddle.
All cleaned out and problem gone.

Or it could be something more sinister.
If it were me I'd get it checked by a pro (in a garage!) if you have any doubts about brakes.
