Does anybody know a tyre fitting company in Reading, Berkshire. that can be trusted to jack a db9 up properly, as I want my tyres swapped onto some new speedline wheels and do not want any damage to the car, wheels or tyre pressure monitors.I only say Reading as You cant fit 4 speedlines into a DB9. So will have to deliver the wheels or persuade my wife to follow me with the new wheels in her car.
Thanks for the replies. I didn't think of Event tyres, as I know most tyre fitters do not like doing this sort of thing unless you are purchasing tyres from them.
Wheels in motion I used to have my geometry set up a few weeks ago. I must say I was very impressed with their knowledge and advice. but a bit too far to drive with 4 spare wheels in toe.
For those that have used Event on their Astons do they jack them as per the four points on the chassis as they are not supposed to be jacked up and supported anywhere else.

Had my wheels changed by Event.A little disappointed as when they had gone I have noticed lots of little chips/marks on the new wheels and on the old ones that went there before. Used air bags but when I quizzed them on how they were going to jack it up got the reply "We deal with Ferraris were no fly by night company" But still jacked it under the subframe. They may be good for your run of the mill stuff and convenient in my situation. Obviously now to late to complain to them but a little annoyed over the damage.
Ideally Should be jacket up on a workshop ramp with the four pads . Two pads on the front jacking points and the rears on the rear jacking points. The point being it should be jacked up level. No axle stands or funny angles when in the air. or supported by wishbones/steering joints..I know that changing your wheels on your driveway clearly wouldn't happen but if four jacks/airbags were used on the correct points then this is acceptable. Jacking anywhere else can cause damage.
Interesting jagaston - I understand the way the car is built so maybe doing one side at a time with two bags would be a good compromise so that it isnt 'twisted' by just one point? Can they inflate two bags at once?
Wonder if we are we being a bit too fussy though and that this is all about correct jacking points rather than number used at once?

I just read a bit more of my crimbo Aston book and this is fabulously geeky:
To twist my Rapide's chassis by 1 degree you need 28Nm of torque (DB9 27Nm - same as a 996). A Bentley Azure and Mazer Quattroporte are 18Nm...
Stiff
So I guess the chassis is made of rubber. Better go check your figures again! To twist my Rapide's chassis by 1 degree you need 28Nm of torque (DB9 27Nm - same as a 996). A Bentley Azure and Mazer Quattroporte are 18Nm...
Stiff

Please add this free 'k' before the above Nm stats and adjust torque wrench accordingly
