V12 Vantage Stereo Lense Replacement
Discussion
Hey folks,
I'm thinking of buying this...http://www.astonmartinbits.com/models/8-V12-Vantage/parts/2089 With a goal to replace the Lense and irradicate one or two scratches. Does anyone have any insight as to how difficult it would be to do this myself or do you think it's a dealer job.
Any feedback greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Chris.

Not sure it will be the same in your car but my 08 vantage stereo clear Display bit popped out easily for cleaning recently, had got a misted with dust inside, also just popped back in place after a clean. good as new!
Didn't need to take out/touch the frame holding it in place.
Hope it helps

Is yours the V8 4.3? Didn't need to take out/touch the frame holding it in place.
Hope it helps
The part you have mentioned is for the newer style dash. The screen actually runs behind the the the knobs. Which will need to be removed before you can unstick the clear screen.
I did this when I was swapping the graphite grey dash for the piano black one. It took me a while to work out how to remove the knobs. It the end I wrapped a piece of string around the the sleeve of the knob and then crossed the ends over and pulled hard on the ends. This compressed the fixing lugs allowing me to pull the knob off at the same time. It would have been easier with a second pair of hands though. I had the complete panel out of the car. But I'm sure you can do it in the car. Then I gently eased the screen off as it is stuck with double sided tape. But it does engage with some small lugs so be careful.
Hope this helps.
