Advice sought on buying first AM - Vantage V8s roadster
Discussion
Hi all,
I am looking at buying my first AM and am naturally very excited about the prospect. My budget is going to be 70-80k so am looking for a very low mileage nearly new V8s roadster model. Whilst searching I have come across a few SP10's which look attractive price wise. I have searched the entire forum for the previous posts on this but was keen to see if anyone has any recent experience of buying an SP10 and what they think of this variant. My understanding is that the new list price was very attractive meaning second hand prices should also be good. I am keen to know what kind of discount to the list price can be expected for a very low mileage used model? Also with it being winter I am guessing that there could be good deals now on a Roadster?
Thanks in advance for any help and advice

Hello hello...some one mention my name???
I traded my Vantage roadster in for an SP10 roadster about 18 months ago and have done over 12k miles to date. As Mikey said it's an S with a load of extras thrown in at an attractive price. It was a no brainer for me as the spec was just what I would have chosen anyway.
I love it! The roadster comes with sports suspension which is quite a bit harder than standard so do try one first. I've had no problems with it after an initial hood malfunction which was sorted out by Stratstones before delivery. I had it detailed by Paddy and Paintshield film applied before it was delivered to me. The only modification is a 3 position switch for the exhaust baffles.
It's a great car and very capable. We did over 2500 miles on an Alpine tour (blast) among a pile of Porshe GT3s, M3s. And 458s among others and more than 'kept up'!! Can't imagine having anything else!

I have a pdf brochure for an SP10 if you are interested PM me
As has been said the SP10 is a V8V S in a specific configuration and colour scheme. It was manual or optionally Sportshift equipped.
Note it was a 'special edition' not a limited edition.
The ocnfiguration was indeed an attractive set of options thrown in and at a lower price than a standard S. A no brainer for someone buying new happy with the colour and trim combination. Much better value than the subsequent N430 which is a standard Vantage with S running gear for a price in between standard Vantage and S (in the UK at least)
Values used are as per well equipped S models (which most are).
Basically, if you see a Ceramic Grey S then it is almost certainly an SP10 even if it is not listed as such. But easy enough to tell as they all have an SP10 engine bay plaque.
The main extras fitted over and above standard spec were front parking sensors, reversing camera and Premium Audio. Also black alloys, black brake calipers and piano black centre console. It should be easy enough to find any S wirh these optons fitted it would just have cost the first owner more!
