I bought my 2010 V8V in September and it is due its service in January. Having been very underwhelmed by the main dealer I am thinking of using an independent, and the closest ones to me are Trinity Engineering and Nicholas Mee. I did a search on here and there doesn't seem to be any feedback on Trinity since 2012 but I guess they are OK for a V8V? Am I missing something by not taking it back to the supplying dealer within the first year? (e.g. warranty claims).

In a word, yes. I'm certain if you service outside of the am dealer network the warranty becomes void. I know it's a bit of a drive but get it serviced at am works? They may also point out some warranty work required whilst it's there (they did this for me).

You can get the car serviced anywhere , it does not effect your warrenty , however genuine aston parts and procedures must be adhered to....warrenty work can only be carried out by main dealers or authorised agents of the warrenty company...

Works will charge for collection / delivery....because you are outside of their free area....

Thanks all. I am 78 miles from Works so a bit of s trek. I guess I will have to go back in case there are warranty issues. Lets hope the service team are better than Sales...

Re: the warranty, Nicholas Mee are fully authorised with the official AM stamp, so any warranty doubts don't apply to them.

Jon, You could also try Spellbound at Farnham http://www.spellboundcars.com/aston-martin-ferrari...

Not used them yet but had a good tour of facilities and got a good feeling from them. They had some lovely old and new cars in when I had a look around.

Thanks, I was looking at them but they are a bit far away. I have booked it in to the main dealer so maybe next year once the warranty has expired.
