Quick Question:
Is there supposed to be any sort of cushioning effect when the doors are closed? There doesn't seem to be any damping, and they slam shut quite alarmingly, often of their own accord.

IIRC they are on struts so shouldn't slam hard?

Sounds pretty normal to me - similar to mine anyway.

Sounds normal to me too, mine shut with a bit of a thud at times, I wouldn't worry about it..

If they're shutting of their own accord as you say, you probably need new gas struts. Changed mine and it made a world of difference. The doors now stay open even when the car is facing uphill.
