Hello All.

I have a three week old Vantage V8. I was just listening to the radio yesterday waiting for my girlfriend to appear and get a low battery warning after about 15 minutes. Is that normal? Is it a bit trigger happy?

Hi and congratulations on the new car. The brief answer is that it's completely normal. The same thing happened to me just after I bought mine. I was sitting for short while learning about the settings and the warning came up. I thought there must be a fault with the battery or the dealership had the door open for ages whilst they were checking things but all was normal. I bought a battery conditioner and leave it on if there are any prolonged periods when I am not using the car (more than a week) or I have had a series of cold starts and short trips. Search the site for battery chargers or conditioners and you will be pointed in the right direction.

Thank you. How long can I listen to the radio with the engine off?

Same for me - 15 minutes or so and I get a low battery warning. And it's a new battery.

Std... I remember a dealer on my test drive leaving the engine on so I could fiddle with the head unit (to try and make it sound a bit more like 5k's worth!) and being bemused by that! I soon learnt why!
