Hi ,

I have a 2008 AM V8V with the sport shift transmission. I love the car, but I have two issues with the sportshift transmission. While driving at speed it works great, but my two issues are:

1: ASM Hydraulic Pump runs intermittently while parked, even when the car is locked and haven’t been touched for hours or days. The pump just suddenly runs for 10/20 seconds and the shuts off again. Have any of you had this problem with your cars?

2: It seems like the clutch has got some kind of glazing-effect on it, when I pull away from a stand still it makes a grinding noise. It doesn’t sound good at all. But it doesn’t happen every time. If a try to grind down some clutch material by doing a rough hill start it seems to help for a couple of days before the noise comes back. Any good tips you could give me? The clutch seems to be fine at speed and don’t show any slipping issues.

Best regards,
CH

There is a micro switch fitted in the drivers door handle that operates the asm pump so the system has pressure to change into neutral for starting the car. Have seen this fault many times and always the microswitch unfortunately you can not get this part on its own so you will have to buy a outer door handle asembly.

It is difficult to comment on your other issue with out experiencing it but do you do your clutch learns every time the car is used?

Great tip, I will have that checked :-)

Yes, I do the learning procedure every time. But it doesn’t seem to make much difference. Temperature might be a factor since it's the middle of winter and below freezing almost every day here in Norway. But it parking it inside over night makes no difference.
