Following on from this thread here: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I pushed the button and took delivery of a brand new 2015 reg V8 Vantage, my first Aston! I didn't spec the car, but this is just about what I would have chosen. The car has an unusual interior for a V8, in that it's not Obsidian Black with Obsidian Black and extra black and lights that light up black. I'd be interested in hearing opinions (Even the negative ones, I don't care!) Following forum rules, as I got a clear day today and a clean car, I'm posting photos.

The car is Meteorite Silver with Winter Wheat and Phantom Grey leather. Bright grille, graphite wheels (Not as dark as the configurator makes them look), premium audio, perforated seats, sat nav, dimming mirror, parking sensors, clear lenses.

I've now had the car for one month and covered almost 2000 miles. I've not stopped smiling and this is the best thing I have ever bought, ever. I always arrive at my destination grinning like a moron and stinking of leather.

This is my only car. I have used it every day since delivery, despite the weather. I've been to Tescos in it. I've been to the cinema. I've had it on a multi story car park. I've managed to avoid getting doored or kerbed. Yes it's usable as a daily driver. I'm very particular about my parking spots though, and am looking for a 2nd car for casual use (the Aston will be my #1...)

Looks fantastic, congrats

I ended up buying a new car as I could not find a used one without a black interior so I am with you all the way, though not sure two tone would be for me, it does seem to work well especially with Meteorite.

Mine is also a daily driver so another thumbs up from me on that.

Many congratulations. Thumbs up to the interior - I have black in my meteorite p&j but if you look at my profile pic then you can tell that I am also a fan of 2-tone interiors. Good for you and great to see some variation.

Enjoy the car and the grin (in my experience) doesn't go!!!

Hi Johnny

Congratulations on the purchase and pleased to see you enjoying it as a DD smile

By the way, that interior works very well. I really like it. Really brightens everything up and the contrast is classy cool

Congratulations and enjoy. The interior colour is an interesting one. First time I looked at it I wasn't sure but the second time liked it a lot better. I suspect it is one that grows on you and the more you see it the more you like it.

At the end of the day it's your Aston and if you like it then that is all that counts. Well done on your choice!!!!!

I absolutely love the two-tone interiors! (Maybe go darker on the door cards, but that's a personal preference). Mine is Obsidian, but with alcantara to lift it a little. In future, when I re-do the alcantara again, I'll probably go with a contrast colour. As for the alloys, I was quite disappointed with the graphite centres, so I'm getting them gloss-blacked before I fit them to mine, possibly worth considering? Glad you're using it as a daily drive, me too, enjoy! smile

Great looking car and I love the interior. Horses for courses but I don't get the emphasis some put on black leather..... all these awesome combinations yet most get black

Not I though

Looks lovely!
I really don't understand why all Aston dealers spec their cars up almost exclusively with black interiors.
There are certain exterior colours that need black, but the vast majority just look so dreary and depressing.
Surely one of the great joys of Aston is the bespoke nature of the leather craftsmanship,.
Why then make it look as close to mass produced as possible?
Just my humble opinion of course....
Says the guy with the red leather interior that many people would probably dislike!

They do it because of the same reason you paint your house magnolia when trying to sell it.
It maximises the size of the audience.
Personally i like the more querky combinations he says with a black interior wink

Lovely! Love the individuality but without pushing it too much.

I drove a car that had a truffle interior - really nice and knowing what I know now and the way the kids really love and respect the car and don't graze door cards or seat backs etc I did have second thoughts. However the light dash reflected badly in the windscreen so caution won the day. So mine is Obsidianly safe Bible Black, Coal Black, Black Black, Quick Quick Slow Black!

Nice pics too not some mobile phone wonkiness :-)

Thanks for all the comments! I'm hating this weather, the evening after I took the photos it was covered in snow, then this morning I'd gone 2 miles at it was covered in dried salt frown

Burnout - you're right, contrasting door cards would work, looks good on AMDBSNick and ds2000's cars above. Curse you for pointing that out, I might have to have that done!
