There is some useful stuff on here about the minor foibles that can occur.

My current foible is that the Sat Nav screen has always stuck slightly before raising up. Sometimes it even needs a helping hand to unstick.

It seems like a simple issue to resolve - has anyone had this before? Can it be sorted DIY and does it require dash removal? I fear the mechanism may break if I leave it like this. Is it meant to stick slightly?

Thank you.

I found a link on the FAQ, showing how to remove the cover. I will do this and have a poke about. It looks as if the cover is separate from the actual screen - they are not joined together but the cover simply rests against the back of the screen using gravity and some springy metal clips.

So I just need to determine whether it's the cover or the screen that is experiencing the sticking - and which part of it.

I miss working on my 80s Mercedes. Time to find out if AM engineering is as good.

Sometimes the plastic drive gears give out. Mine did. There's an inexpensive kit available to replace them, and you can do it yourself.
