I am looking at buying a 4.7 V8V and have seen photos of Storm black & Onyx black cars in adverts. Am I right in thinking that Storm is jet black and Onyx less so. Storm doesn't seem as popular as Onyx? I guess both will be a pain to keep clean.

Onyx has silver flakes,Storm has red flakes.
Nothing looks better than a shiny black Aston and its a pleasure to clean them and then admire the beautiful lines of the car.

Storm black has fine red metal flake, but onyx has a larger silver flake in the paint. Storm is also easier to mark, as for some reason, then paint isn't has hard as the rest of the range.

Hi

So Black is not black!

Onyx Black has Silver flakes.
Storm Black has Red flakes.
Carbon Black has Blue flakes.
Jet Black is just Plain black.

Any more variants of black in the current Aston colour list's?

This might help........
Black is black
I want my baby back.
It's grey, it's grey,
since she went away

Oh-oh, what can I do??
'cause I-I-I-I-I,
I'm feelin' blue.

The Spelling and Grammar Police will be along shortly. 4/10

Currently there is also Marron Black but this is relatively new. Storm Black is a 'special colour' so quite expensive hence you will see less of these than Onyx Black.

Remember though 'black is not a colour it is a full-time job'

Yes but the question was in currant(sic) lists. That said you can still order any previous Aston colour if you have the necessary. So that could open up to yet more blacks?

I don't know why I am playing in this thread since I would NEVER have a black car smile

I have Storm Black. Given up on detailers as they generally don't turn up. Every time I wash mine I now wax it too. Yes it takes an extra half an hour but it looks as good as I will ever want it to thumbup
