Cobalt Blue

Hi All,

Currently on the hunt for a V8VS Coupe and am getting drawn to a couple of Cobalt Blue ones which are out there.

What's the general consensus on this colour, and if anyone has any real life pics I'd love to see them, instead of the pony dealer ones taken in bad light.

Blue is always a nice colour for an Aston. I am afraid I am a little bit bias, as mine is Mendip Blue 2 and is stunning.

Ahhhh, that's actually the exact car i'm considering.......it's up for for £62.5 in AM Cardiff.

There's another up for £73k in AM Leeds, 11 months newer, 9k less on it and a virtually identical spec, but £10k difference is a fair chunk.

What's the general thinking on the spec/miles/price of the Cardiff car ?

I'll probably put 6-8k a year on it as it'll be a DD, and would plan to keep it until I can afford a V12R.

No apology needed......that's a cracking colour.

I'd never be one for Aston taking a Lambo approach and turning out lime greens etc, but the odd off the wall version is good in my opinion.

Nothing wrong with the spec on that one - I met the last owner and did admit that I wanted it! I think it may have been sourced from Cardiff and since he was local to them, they should have a good record of any work done in the past few months - Richard or Matt at Cardiff will know. The fast change over - about a year in his ownership - has a good reason behind it and if you pm me I can explain. I would think it's a sound buy.

Cobalt Blue was the launch colour of the V8VS model and nothing not to like, aleays looks well on the Vantage.

With that in mind, and KX being the reg. no. of factory cars there is a chance the Cardiff car may have been a demo/press car early in its life. Also a good chance it was not of course but in any case it would not have done it any harm.

No. Look at the reg no on the one I posted. Its the same car as the one Martyn (J12 MOC)posted. It was borrowed from Cardiff I believe whilst Martyn was waiting for his new car and we had a run around Wales organised by Molly.

Thats a factory car (KX plate)
When I was buying my S there were a few cobalt blue coupe's about that were peppered in gravel rash from Journo's thrashing them round the track at the launch.
One even had them on the roof!

Martyn was loaned that car. We all thought it was gorgeous! I can vouch for his driving skills combined with his mechanical sympathy.
