What's the difference having my DB9 serviced with Aston Martin Works (AMW) compared to a franchised network dealership (such as Stratstone or Lancaster)? I notice that AMW's fixed price servicing is slightly better value than Lancaster's. As AMW are majority owned by AM themselves, is there greater value or quality in having work done by AMW?

Someone may have a different view, but I would suggest next to nothing and many people value the Works stamp in a logbook. Interestingly I used the Works quote when discussing the price of my service with another dealer - they were very good about it.

I've recently used Works for the recall work as they collected both cars in the truck and the charge was nominal. Saved me the faff of two while u wait jobs. Excellent service. If you use them for servicing they are big into "upsell", things like chipped centre caps and the like. For annual servicing work I use BR.

I use Works for the Vanquish. It has been there since new and I am now rather fastidious about keeping it a Works service history. To be fair, being Aberdeen-based, Works is just as inconvenient as every other know Vanquish specialists so the travel side isn't much of an impact.

The DB6 and the V12V however both go to different places. The DB6 goes to a Scottish specialist who has looked after the car for many years. The V12V goes to the AM dealers closest to us; Edinburgh.

+1

Works are not part of the factory, they are essentially another dealer although not part of a franchise chain. I used them for some warranty work and wasn't overly impressed so have since used a local approved AM service agent (Chiltern Aston) and have they have been excellent and will continue to use them in the future.

I would suggest looking at local dealers first and if you can't find anyone that you are happy with cast your net a bit wider but don't assume that Works offer the best service.
