Went to drive my 2004 DB7 v12 coupe the other day, the engine started fine as it always does, but then could only just shift gear from park to neutral and no further ie into drive which I wanted, the stick is now only in neutral,can't shift it into any other gear, it's the touchtronic box, semi auto on one side, full auto on the other.The gears were fine when I last used the car and put it away,these things seem to go wrong in the middle of the night and attack you the next day! The car has done around 46000. Anyway,any advice folks? Would be appreciated,Thanks,Tony.

Had a not to dissimilar problem some time ago on my 7.

Start it up and then with footbrake depressed move it into neutral and hold there for 15 seconds, then into Park and hold for 15 secs, back to neutral and repeat then see if you can select other gears.

If you can, hold them each in order for 15 secs (this was a tip from my local AM technician and it worked for me).

Just a layman here but is this an issue of a brake pedal switch? i.e. the brake pedal must be depressed before you can select D or R? If so, check the switches and note that many cars have more than one.

Thanks for your thoughts but tried these solutions but no luck though everyone I talk to says it probably is to do with the interlocking safety system between the brake and the gears, taking up to be sorted soon, and will need a tow from the AA unless he can repair the fault where the car is, thanks for your help, Tony.
