BR Exhaust Upgrade - Gives new meaning to 'bespoke'
Discussion
Mike at BR fitted my 4.3 V8V roadster with the exhaust / power upgrade about 2 1/2 years ago. This, and the lightweight flywheel / clutch upgrade transformed the car and the SS1 gearbox performance. I've been enjoying it ever since and it turned the car into a keeper, from my previously considering switching to the 4.7.
The car went in for a service yesterday and Mike mentioned to me the option of further tuning the exhaust upgrade with the fitting of the modified intermediate section (the X pipe). So this was all done as part of the original upgrade package. Like Bincenzo and bentley01, I really like the new exhaust note, and the way the noise builds up gradually with revs. Like I said to Mike last night when I got home, I'm more than happy to leave the loud button on all the time now - and I'm not one for shoutyness as a rule.
Mike and the team have not only continued to refine the power/exhaust upgrade since mine was fitted (quite some time ago now), but offer these refinements to existing customers, all as part of the original package. A further consideration, perhaps, for anyone contemplating going down the tuning route.
Merlot Red before anyone asks...

Your Car had a modified exhaust.
It is a striking Merlot Red (I prefer Burgundy)
And it has a hairdresser's roof.
How much more shouty can you get !!!
You are either good looking enough to have a Roadster or you are not. If not you buy a coupe!!It is a striking Merlot Red (I prefer Burgundy)

Only Yeti was ever sufficiently handsome for a soft top

I usually agree with the short blue oneHowever Yeti is not always the beacon of handsomeness he implies
We have evidence and everything

Jockers, I'm hurt......
Anyway, good looking and soft tops, discuss. WTF is Toms doing driving the Moose's DB9 roadster then, he's one of the ugliest litte urchins I've ever met!
Great news on the exhaust moveover, what a sound! Another very satisfied customer......

The DB9 doesn't come as a Roadster (2 seater) only as a Volante

Sorry to be back on topic, any more details or a pic of this part? What does it do to the sound/power?divetheworld said:

This is the puppy that creates the sweetest noise, a work of art really. The details of the upgrade power increases are on the BR sticky at the top of the page, but what's not made that clear is that, as others have said, this part is free of charge for those that want a change in note. There's a YouTube clip on a previous thread of my noise, but essentially it's gone from a raucous, raspy, muscle car to a sweet, smooth howl. Very, very different to the OE system, much more unique.
Thanks buddy. I think I know what you mean. A bit less mustang, a bit more fezza. Thanks for posting and nice one BR!

Please excuse the request but I have had a look, however the search on PH is so rubbish, I've had no luck. Please can you post a link to the youtube clip. I have BR's headers with their 'cat and baffle' centre section and I'm keen on the kindly offered x-pipe but would love to hear the difference before committing. Thanks
