V8 Vantage battery issues

Hi Guys, looking for some advice if possible!

i have a 2006 V8 Vantage, and at present the car will only start when booster pack is attached with full charge,
as soon as its taken off, the battry symbol comes on the dash along with "electric system service urgent" and the DSC sign, and emergency brake sign.

im assuming its something to do with the battery, possibly not holding charge? do you think it needs a new battery.

any advise will be appreciated,

I just asked my girlfriend, who knows nothing about cars, and she said it sounds like you need a new battery.
