If you like shows about car restoration then Sunday 19th 8pm Channel 4 sees the return of For the love of cars.

The first car is a DBS (the non V12 variety) as driven by Roger Moore in the Persuaders and by James Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (not the same car obviously)

Can't imagine why they thought Sunday 8pm was a good slot for a car show.

Shame they don't show more about the actual restoration work...

And the numbers don't add up, 6000 hours, 30k on the engine, 15k on the seats ?, 20k on spares and other bits?, £37k on the original car, I can't see much change out of £200k.

Still a good show for an empty Sunday evening!

I enjoyed it, the car looked superb at the end.

I figured the 6,000 hours was across all the projects that were running in parallel. They only had 10x weeks to restore so thats 1680 hours if 1 person went around the clock.

It was a great show and the olive green / oxblood leather combo looked stunning, even though I had reservations when they were choosing.

Agree it would have been nice to see a little more of the detailed restoration work, but there is only so much time allowing for all the ads etc...
