Please help. This is very urgent for me as I need to get my V8V registered in Australia this week. Everything with the car is OK after the first inspection but they failed the car on the rear number plate lights not working and they were unable to find the engine number (please see my other post).

Both my rear number plate lights are not working. Check the bulbs and they are OK. All my other rear lights seems to be working fine.

I'm guessing it might be a fuse but my owner manual is in a container from the UK. Can someone tell me where the fuse is for the rear number plates light and what else is also using that fuse?

Other than the fuse, what else can it be?

I've been through the fuse sheet for you and can't find a specific reference to the number plate light. Don't know if this will help. its fuse F47 in the fuse box beneath the passengers feet well:

F47 5Amp Interior lamps (front)/Seat switches/Fuel flap switch/glovebox switch/Rear power illumination

Thanks for looking.

I don't think its that. All the mentioned functions works OK. I'd suspect it might be one of the fuses in the boot. I'll have to pull each one out and have a look.

If its not a fuse then I'm stumped.

thanks.

Have you tried tracing the problem with a multi-meter?
