Hi
I have recently got an iPhone 6 to replace the iPhone 4S I used to have, and of course it no longer connects (plugs into) the fly lead in the cabin of my DB9. I bought an adaptor in the naive hope that this would solve the problem, but of course life isn't that easy. The car now does not recognise the phone. Anyone come across this & have any ideas around the problem?

I bought the official apple adapter and it works fine. The unofficial ones often don't. Maybe that's the problem?

If it's not that, I have found large music libraries on the iPhone can be an issue on both my Aston and BMW. One particular variation if this is a playlist with tracks missing.

I too replace my iPhone 4S with the new 6. I purchased the adaptor whilst at the Apple store, plugged it in and experienced no problems what-so-ever.

No probs with my adaptor. You could speak to your Dealer about a Gen 2 kit that will eradicate the need for the adaptor smile

I believe the lightning connector has a proprietary chip in it to eliminate/reduce knock-off copies. You need to make sure the lead or adapter is from Apple, or Apple certified. There are many on Amazon at a reasonable price - I got a couple at around 5 or 6 quid a piece. Better than the £25 odd you'll get charged in the Apple shop, but not so cheap as to not work, either!

I've used the tune2air wma 1000 in my 2008 Vantage for a few years now, worked with my iPhone 4S and my iPhone 6.

A bit more pricey than the standard adapter though, but provides Bluetooth steaming. Everything works as it did when plugged in directly.

Seems to be a bit harder to get hold of now though.

I've never actually looked into it in any detail - can you download from iTunes/iphone onto the HD - my car has a 2013 Garmin based system

As for cables, I have the Aston official lead with an apple adaptor and seems to work fine with my iphone 5

My 6+ arrives this week, so I've got fingers crossed......

No hard disk storage for music that I've found. A usb stick would do the trick though and be more manageable.
