Scuffed an alloy, options?
Discussion
Kicking myself. Stupid road furniture to intentionally limit the width of the road, with a damaged curbstone sticking out. Traffic around so couldn't turn around. Car didn't fit.
Wheels are V spoke diamond cut with graphite.
I have wheel and tyre cover, but the small print says that for this wheel type, the wheels will be sent for remanufacture and it will take up to 10 days. This is my only car so I'd need to be in a hire car for a week.
I'm considering my options before I pull the trigger on the insurance.
- Buy a used wheel and have it switched while mine is repaired, then I'll have a spare should this happen again. Can't find any on eBay or Astonmartinbits - they do have a complete set but not a single.
- Revive do repairs on the driveway. Waiting for a quote, due to the finish I doubt this could be done well enough?
Any other suggestions would be very much appreciated!

I don't know of anyone who can do diamond cut at the side of the road...I have them on my Range rover. At best the roadside places do a patch up paint job, ideal if you are selling the car next month....but 12-18 months later its usually coming off (in my experience)
I had my vantage wheels refurbed a few years ago, it was off the road Monday to Friday whilst they were sent away, just regular 7 spokes, not diamond cut. They came back like new
I think your best option is to buy a spare wheel of same size (perhaps not same style) and use that whilst yours is fixed

I had the same wheel insurance with my vantage. The insurers referred my repair to a Peugeot dealer in Leeds! I found the solution was to speak to the service manager at my Aston dealership who dealt with the insurer and organised everything from spare wheel to organising the repair.
Thanks all for the comments. Yes it's just a wheel, but the car is new so I really should get it sorted. It's the potential faffing about that's the problem, and I really don't want the car up on axle stands behind a Peugeot dealership for a week, followed by being taken for spirited 'road tests'... I'll report back what happens.
The wheel and tyre cover only covers repairs to the wheel. I'd have to sort the hire car myself. Although I'd fancy a go in a Cayman, last time I hired a car the insurance excess was a grand, and it was a Peugeot 109. I only want an easy life... And as Steve pointed out, it's just a wheel.
I scuffed the underside for the first time today too, caught the heads of the bolts attaching the splitter and the bottom splash guard / aero smoothing sheet of aluminium just behind it. Very minor. Cherry well and truly popped now.
On another note, washed the car, came up nice (the bugs just wash right off, thankyou Gtechniq), and had a bit of a blast on some quiet roads this evening.
