Exhaust upgrade - best 'sounds for pounds'

I know there is a lot of good information on here regarding upgrading/changing the exhaust on the V8 vantage (4.3L), but wanted to see if anyone has ever tried out the GT4 Race Air filters and what difference they made.

These I believe are about £500 for the pair and would be the cheapest option to try first.

Then, I have seen some 200 cell cats that would be about £1000.

The air filters and cats combined are still less than adding just a rear box which retail about £2000 (Quicksilver/APVelocity etc)

I am not necessarily after more horsepower, just a change to the exhaust notes.

Obviously, I'd love to give it to Bamford Rose and get the complete exhaust changed, but I cant justify that expense right now (Not sure if they supply parts separately)
