So I have had my 2007 DB9 for 4 months and done approximately 1500 miles (total 32000) and thought it was time for an update on here. My limited experience with the DB9 has been fantastic and I have loved every minute of it. It really has been a pleasure to drive and makes me feel special whenever I get into it. I often find myself looking for excuses to get into it and go somewhere especially when the weather's nice.

I find the throttle very sensitive, particularly if it's not bone dry, it's very easy to spin the back wheels slightly when setting off from standstill.

My car is a Sports pack model and do find the ride very firm, every imperfection in the road surface does find it's way into the interior.

On a few occasions my steering has gone quite heavy at low speed when setting off. This rectifies itself after a few seconds, but low speed maneuvering something makes the steering heavy.

I have had the dreaded 'emissions system service required' warning 2 times now. I have a cheap OBD reader and both times no errors were present and the light disappeared when I reset it. Hope this isn't something more sinister in the early stages.

I do sometimes feel that the car is 'missing' when I am parked at traffic lights. When I am idling it will occasionally feel like its idling a bit lumpy. However it drives fine with no roughness. Not sure if its me being overly sensitive.

I replaced the boot gas struts, as it slams itself shut if you don't hold it all the way down. However the new ones were exactly the same and it still slams unless you hold it up.

Overall so far so good and I look forward to happy times.

P.S any excuse to get a few pictures up

The one thing I couldn't stand was the original Aston key fob, thankfully I found a thread on here showing how to upgrade to a Jaguar fob. Much happier with this version now.

Lovely car you've got there. Nice pics.

I think you will find you've got a common 'problem' there, a lot us go looking for places to go. The 2 hour drive to the shops to get a pint of milk is common smile

Regarding your concerns, would suggest you have a chat with a reputable garage to either put your mind at rest or get it looked in to.

Hope you carry on with the happy motoring.

Syncii, thanks for information, yes would be great to hear an informed opinion on the issues.

Something I forgot to mention was the fuse 22 mod. I have removed and refitted this 2 or 3 times now and can honestly say I notice no difference to the sound. I have left it out for a couple of weeks and then refitted with no discernable change in note and any rev point. It sounds lovely and throaty either way. Is it possible my valves are seized open/closed. Can this be easily checked.

Interested in the key mod do you have any more details?

Here is a link to the thread, it goes on a bit, but it is a straight forward job. Buy Jaguar fob from ebay and simply remove circuit board from your Aston fob and insert into Jaguar fob. The buttons line up and all works fine. Then you need to cover up the Jaguar logo and apply some sort of Aston logo.
