Newbie saying hello
Discussion
Just joined about a week ago and wanted to say hello. Been a massive AM lover for many a year. And have just bought my 3rd vantage.
First 55 plate coupe manual
Second 57 plate roadster sport shift
Awaiting delivery of a 58 coupe manual
Have loads of questions to ask but will do them over the coming weeks.
Main one is anyone know anything about the car I'm ordering Oynx black V8 VX58MYC from Stratstones Wilmslow?
Thanks in advance
David

I think I saw that car when I was looking. It was advertised as a 4.7 but the centre console was pre MY2009 which confused me.
I have an explanation for your confusion. The first signs of the debt bubble popping were in September 2007. In 2008 the AM sales boom quickly slowed, with dealers reporting cancelled orders. Although the delivery of 4.7 cars (MY 2009) began in September 2008, some 4.3 models were still for sale in summer 2009.

Delivery of 4.7s started even earlier than Sept 2008 Jon. Mine is registered on 9th August 2008 and I'm sure I saw one advertised a year or so ago that was June or even May 2008. With, as you say, some 4.3s registered well into 2009 that leaves at least a year's overlap. Easy though, different interior and says 4.7 on the engine. Someone's now going to tell us that there are 4.7s out there with the old interior and vice versa! The first signs of the debt bubble popping were in September 2007.
