As a southerner and a new V8V owner I can pass on some valuable advice. Don't go to the Lake District or Scotland. It's rubbish.

Where did you go? I take it you had a big grin throughout your trip....
Beginning of July, I'm going up with my business partner for a trip in ours. Looking forward to those valleys..cloud9

I wish the old London > Scotland car train was still in service as its easier to to mainland Europe from down here (and more fun than the M1) frown

Great pics!

The potholes on the Applecross are so bad we took a quadcopter with us to film them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdB7pnNAW08

Plus they have silly tunnels in Scotland which are barely a car's width so they trap the exhaust noise. How ridiculous.

Agree on all points! Don't bother to go all that way north - you will probably only get bored.

Nice try on the filming. We were lucky enough to have someone quite clever along to record our recent trip to Scotland wink

Pete,

I seem to have a photo for all occasions on the Pass and as you will be pleased to see I always give way to Cyclists………...thumbup

I must admit to admiring your fitness and stamina but it has to be said Pete I think you must be crackers…...wobble

Best of luck for the ride and don't forget to post up a picture or it didn't happen.

Maybe sat on this,

Then re-energise with some of these in the Applecross Inn before the long pedal back over the top.,

There you go there's the task in hand, simples……….enjoy the ride you crazy man…...bow

Thanks Ed. Unfortunately the photos and pit stop for quality nosh in Applecross won't be happening as it is half way round the 90 mile cyclo-sportive I'll be doing ……… http://www.handsonevents.co.uk/?page_id=343

Stopping unnecessarily = losing time to your mates (read competitors) and having to buy all the beer that night. We'll maybe pop back the next day for the photostop and grub.
