New owner to the fold!
Discussion
So after having let my 996 Turbo go for a pretty penny (bonkers that they are rising in value, so couldn't really say no to the offer I received from a very nice man), my search began for my next steed. I quickly settled on an AM DB9 or a Maser GT, primarily due to them having rear seats (and a very nice sound), and seats that I occasionally found useful in the Porsche.
I was dead set on a Maser when I got cold feet due to the Ford Mondeo rear lights and switched to another Porsche as I fancied a soft top this time. But then a new day came and I was again fixed on the Maser...or the DB9. I'd seen plenty of Masers up close, despite their rarity, but had yet to get up close and personal to a DB9.
So it was off to McGurks yesterday for a quick shifty based upon the great reviews I'd read on here. Once I'd peeled my eyes away from the Carerra GT and the GT40, Matt allowed me free reign to crawl all over his DB9s. Well; I was a surprisingly underwhelmed.
I just thought their lines were not to my personal taste (and what were AM thinking with that wood on the centre console!) and then I tried the rear 'seats'...what seats? There is some space for a soft bag masquerading as a seat, but nothing else; how odd. So I thought I'd leave Kineton and hunt down a Maser GT...until I caught a glimpse of the beauties called V8 Vantages. I was smitten! Fast forward 60 minutes of looking at the collection currently in stock and I signed up there and then for a very tasty example that I hope to collect next weekend. How excited!? I've even engaged Paddy to conduct a pre-collection detail (again as a result of great reviews on PHs).
Obligatory photos will follow collection. So thanks again to posters and PHs for being a mine of information to help the decision making. Cheers!
